The living room at the new owner’s home in Houston, Texas, is a stunning place to spend time.
In the days before it was torn down in a massive storm, the family’s two-bedroom home sat vacant for nearly a year, with little notice or planning.
“The house was a mess,” Kim Kardashian said, when asked about the living space.
“There was no one to take care of the house.”
The family spent the summer at the mansion, where the Kardashons were living at the time.
Their son and daughters-in-law, Kris Jenner and Kris Jenner-Jenkins, lived there during the storm.
The mansion, which the Kardashian sisters bought in 2010 for $7.8 million, was in poor condition, and its owners, Mark and Jacqueline Fink, paid for repairs, according to TMZ.
As the storm raged, the Fink family, who own a construction company, decided to renovate the living area of the mansion.
The renovation included replacing the carpet and tile in the kitchen, replacing the kitchen sink with a new model, and installing a new shower, according the Houston Chronicle.
The renovations were completed in the middle of August.
But by the time the Finks announced the house’s sale last week, it was still empty.
Kim Kardashian-Jenks told the Chronicle that the Fits were “very excited” about the sale, and said they were “pretty much done” with the remodel.
“I am so happy about the way things went,” Kim told the newspaper.
“We really just wanted to make sure everything was in good shape.”
According to the Fops, they’re still trying to decide what to do with the mansion and are currently working with an agent to buy it.
If they buy the property, they plan to use the money to pay off the debt they’ve accrued since buying the property in 2010, according a spokesperson for the Fents.
