The basement renovation project was a $3.9 million project that took years to complete.
When completed, it would have been one of the largest basement renovations in the world, covering an area of nearly 8,000 square feet.
A new roof, new carpeting, and new paint would have added another $2.6 million to the cost.
It was also one of three major projects that were canceled due to budget cuts, with another $1.6 billion in federal and state funds being used to pay the construction cost.
According to the report, the project was supposed to take place in 2018.
The first floor of the former home, which was used as a storage facility, was demolished in 2020 to make way for a larger office space.
The renovation began in 2019, and was expected to finish in 2021.
The second floor of this second-floor space was slated for a $1 million renovation.
The new building was slated to be completed in 2022.
In all, the $3 billion project cost $1,973,038,000.
However, the cost of the renovations were delayed.
In a report published in 2018, the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology estimated the cost at $1 billion.
The Senate version of the bill, which passed on Thursday, proposed a $400 million decrease in the bill.
While the Senate version does include $400M for the basement renovation, it doesn’t include any funding for the replacement of the original roof or carpeting that would have replaced the old one.
The bill also doesn’t specify when construction will begin.
As of Wednesday, the bill still had not been sent to the Senate floor for a vote.
