Hawaii’s famed Hawaiian Islands is worth $3.4 billion in today’s market, but many of its most valuable features have been overlooked for years.
The island has been an anchor of Hawaii’s economy for nearly a century and is the subject of a landmark Supreme Court ruling in 2014 that paved the way for the first Americans to return to the islands.
Now, it is on the verge of being turned into a luxury resort, and in many ways, a symbol of America’s changing times.
