Washington (AP) A Carrier Dome upgrade project that was delayed because of Hurricane Irma is expected to get underway this month, as the company tries to clear the way for a second wind.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it will begin to award the $25 million upgrade to replace the concrete dome on top of the dome, the first since Hurricane Irma hit the Caribbean.
The dome was originally slated to be replaced in late August, but the hurricane made it clear that the job wasn’t finished yet.
FEMA officials say they will make final determinations about when to start replacing the dome this month.
