LIVINGSTON, Mass.
— An estimated $3 billion will be spent in the next decade on new landscaping in the United States, according to a report released Monday.
The Garden Restoration Association, a nonprofit organization that represents some of the biggest home remodeling companies, says the figure includes $2.5 billion for the $3.4 billion renovation of nearly 1 million acres of land, as well as $1.7 billion in landscaping and renovation services.
The report estimates that roughly $2 billion of that will be for new landscaped homes.
Other estimates say that about $500 million of that cost will be dedicated to new landscapers, $300 million to new irrigation systems, and $100 million for new plantings and other projects.
