St. Louis, Mo.
(AP) A $400,000 renovation of the main St. Patrick’s Day Parade grounds near the St. Joseph’s Church was shut down Tuesday due to mold issues.
The parade is scheduled to begin in St. Charles on Friday, and organizers have said it will be reopened on Monday.
The St. Patricks Day Parade and Parade of the Stellons will resume in St Joseph’s Park, where a park that opened in 1998 is now the centerpiece of the city’s historic downtown.
St. Louis County is the state’s oldest continuously operating municipal park, but a $1.3 billion plan to remake it has stalled in the face of a lawsuit by the Stelts of St Louis and the City of St Charles.
A new $1 billion plan is still under review.
