A proposal to renovate the Dodger stadium would cost $6.7 billion and would require the building to be renovated for the next 100 years.
The proposal from Los Angeles-based architects CAA would involve the building’s roof, exterior walls, roof deck and interior walls being upgraded to withstand earthquakes, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The project, known as CAA’s Stadium Enhancement Project, is currently being funded by a private foundation, but could also be funded by taxpayers.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to consider the project this month.
The stadium is located at the Los Alamitos International Airport, which is currently under construction.
The stadium’s current capacity of 55,000 seats is expected to increase to 60,000 by the end of the 2021 season.
